native of Pittsburgh, Robert Gussin retired from Johnson & Johnson as
Corporate Vice President of Science & Technology and Chief Scientific
Officer in 2000.
Bob received both his Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy and Masters
of Science in Pharmacology from Duquesne University. He received a
Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Michigan, and holds an
honorary Doctor of Science degree from Duquesne University.
The author of a number of scientific publications, Bob has
contributed several chapters to academic textbooks. He serves on
a number of commercial and non-profit boards and advisory committees,
including the NASA Aerospace Medicine and Occupational Health Advisory
Committee, Duquesne University Board of Directors, as well as the
Board of Directors of Catholic Health Services of Long Island, and the
Board of Directors of Christus Health. He is a sought-after
speaker and presents at a variety of conferences,
symposia and association meetings. He also volunteers with the
East End Hospice in Westhampton, New York, and the Senior
Friendship Center in Sarasota, Florida.
Bob and his wife, Dr. Patricia Gussin, divide their time between
Longboat Key, Florida, East Hampton, New York, and their vineyard
in Marlborough, New Zealand.
